Sometimes problems with your home can lead to infestations of pests and vermin, for example, rats, mice, daddy long-legs, silver fish, cockroaches and bed bugs.

If you have a pest issue, you can report it by:

  • Logging into My Account
  • Using the Live Chat link on our website
  • Calling us on 0800 432 0077.

When you report a pest problem to us:

  • Our contractor, Beaver Pest Control, will get in touch within 24 hours
  • They’ll carry out an initial inspection, considering things like the type of pest, the property you live in and your unique situations and needs, give you clear advice on next steps, which may include directing you to helpful resources.

Your responsibility

You might be responsible for dealing with the infestation if it was caused by something that you did or failed to do. For example, if you didn’t throw away rubbish properly and it attracted rats, then you have to deal with them.

Our responsibility

We will deal with pest problems in your home where there are rats, mice, cockroaches, fleas and bedbugs. But please be aware this is only if the issue has been caused by a problem with the building.

Managing agents

In some cases, a managing agent or another organisation, may be responsible for pest control in these areas. If that's the case, you should report the issue to them directly. If you're unsure who is responsible, please contact us.
We know every situation is different, and our team will assess your case to decide the best action.

When should I contact my local council?

If a pest problem appears to originate from another home, for which A2Dominion is not responsible, we will notify the local authority’s environmental health department and encourage you to do the same.

Tips to prevent pests

There are a number of ways you can prevent pests in and around your home:

  • Keep your floors clean, wipe up any spills using soap and water and clean your flooring at least once a week
  • Make sure you put a lid on all food and drinks or keep them in a sealed container
  • If you have pets, keep them clean and use flea and tick prevention
  • Make sure waste bins are covered, emptied and cleaned regularly
  • Make sure gaps behind kitchen appliances, such as cookers and fridges, are cleaned regularly
  • Do not store food on the floor and keep all food stored in sealed containers
  • Make sure any minor leaks in your home are reported and dealt with promptly to ensure that there is no potential water source
  • Wash and dry your bed sheets on the hottest temperature you can
  • If you buy second-hand furniture or clothing, inspect them carefully before bringing them into your home
  • Block up any small gaps that a pest could access. Replace any damaged or poorly fitting finishings and neatly seal any gaps with an expanding foam or a silicone sealant
  • Keep the outside area of your home clear. Do not pile wood next to your home, clear piles of leaves, keep plants cut back so pests can’t climb into the house and keep gutters clear.
