Choose your housing type:
If you are a social housing tenant, you can apply to swap your home with someone else in a similar home somewhere else in the UK.
If you live in supported housing, please contact us for advice on transferring to another home.
You can find someone to exchange your home with through HomeSwapper. This is a national home exchange service that's free to use if you're already living in any one of our homes.
Through HomeSwapper you can exchange your home with anyone living in:
- One of our homes
- Another housing association's home
- A local authority home
How it works
- Contact the customer contact centre to check if you're eligible.
- Register on HomeSwapper.
- Create a profile for your home and describe what you're looking for. Add lots of details and photos to attract more potential swappers.
- Browse available homes and see suitable matches.
- When you find a home you're interested in, chat to the tenant and arrange a viewing.
- If you both agree you want to swap, contact us for a swap application form. We'll need the name and address of the person you want to swap with and the details of their landlord.
- Both landlords will run checks to make sure you each qualify for your new homes.
Your rent and service charge need to be up to date to swap.
You can't exchange your home if you have a starter or a probationary tenancy. You may not be able to exchange your home if:
- You, or the person you want to swap with, owe rent
- The home is too big or too small for your needs
- The home you want to move to has been adapted for a special purpose, such as for a disabled person
- We have a court order to take possession of your home
